Equality for women: A handbook for NHRIs on economic, social and cultural rights
Equality for Women: A Handbook for NHRIs on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights is a practical guide for National Human Rights Institutions in advancing women’s equality in the realization of economic, social, and cultural rights. The book examines gender-based discrimination and structural barriers affecting women’s access to rights such as education, health, work, housing, and social protection. It provides a human rights–based framework, along with practical guidance on monitoring, investigation, reporting, and advocacy from a gender perspective. Emphasizing substantive equality, the handbook supports NHRIs in integrating gender analysis into their work and strengthening institutional responses to promote women’s rights.
