Women's health: where do health professionals stand? A training package education and training for staff of rural and remote hospitals
This training package provides a structured educational resource designed to strengthen the capacity of health professionals working in rural and remote hospitals to deliver comprehensive, gender-sensitive care for women. It outlines key women’s health issues commonly encountered in underserved settings—ranging from reproductive health, maternal care, and chronic conditions to gender-based violence and socio-cultural barriers affecting access to services. Through modules, case studies, and practical tools, the package assesses current knowledge gaps among rural health staff and offers strategies to enhance clinical skills, communication, cultural competence, and inter-professional collaboration. Emphasizing the unique challenges of geographic isolation and limited resources, it aims to improve the quality, responsiveness, and equity of women’s health services in remote regions.
