The Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 87 of 2002 on the National Plan of Action for the Eradication of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) establishes a comprehensive national framework to prevent and eliminate all forms of child sexual exploitation in Indonesia. The document outlines government commitments to strengthen legal protection, enhance law enforcement, and promote rehabilitation and reintegration programs for child victims. It also emphasizes the importance of coordination among government agencies, NGOs, and communities, as well as awareness-raising efforts to address root causes such as poverty, trafficking, and gender-based discrimination. The Plan of Action serves as a policy guideline for integrating child protection into national and local development agendas, reinforcing Indonesia’s obligations under the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and other international human rights instruments.
