An analysis of the role of social safety net scholarships in reducing school drop-out during the Indonesian economic crisis
The book An Analysis of the Role of Social Safety Net Scholarships in Reducing School Drop-Out During the Indonesian Economic Crisis examines how scholarship programs implemented as part of Indonesia’s social safety net helped mitigate the impact of the 1997–1998 economic crisis on education. It analyzes data on school attendance and dropout rates to assess the effectiveness of targeted financial assistance for poor students in maintaining school participation. The study finds that these scholarships played a crucial role in preventing large-scale dropouts, especially among children from low-income families, while also highlighting implementation challenges such as targeting accuracy and fund distribution efficiency.
