Voices 2000 & beyond : asia-pacific women's lobbying document for beijing+5
Voices 2000 & Beyond: Asia-Pacific Women’s Lobbying Document for Beijing+5 is an advocacy document produced by women’s networks across the Asia-Pacific region in preparation for the *Beijing+5* review (held in 2000), which assessed the progress since the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing (1995).
The publication highlights achievements and ongoing challenges faced by women in the region in pursuing gender equality and social justice. It covers issues such as women’s poverty, gender-based violence, reproductive health, political participation, economic and labor rights, and the impacts of globalization on women’s lives.
This document serves as a lobbying and advocacy guide for activists and women’s organizations, ensuring that the voices and experiences of Asia-Pacific women are represented in global policy discussions during the *Beijing+5* process. It also stands as an important record of solidarity among women’s movements across the region.
