Supplementary report of the republic of Indonesia on the implementation of the convention against torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment
This supplementary report presents Indonesia’s progress and challenges in implementing the Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CAT). It provides updates beyond the state’s initial report, focusing on legislative measures, institutional reforms, and policy initiatives aimed at preventing torture and ill-treatment. The document also addresses issues related to detention practices, law enforcement accountability, and mechanisms for redress and rehabilitation of victims. By identifying gaps in compliance and highlighting steps taken to strengthen protections, the report reflects Indonesia’s ongoing engagement with international human rights obligations and its dialogue with the Committee Against Torture.
