A gender analysis of the maputo development corridor
This study applies a gender perspective to the Maputo Development Corridor, a major regional infrastructure and economic initiative linking South Africa and Mozambique. It examines how the project impacts men and women differently in areas such as employment, land use, trade, and access to resources. The report highlights gender disparities, potential risks of marginalization, and opportunities for integrating gender-sensitive policies to ensure equitable development outcomes. Recommendations are provided to strengthen women’s participation and benefits in regional development processes.
