Against prostitution, for the women in prostitution
Against Prostitution, for the Women in Prostitution is a position paper that critically examines prostitution as a system of exploitation rooted in patriarchy. It highlights how prostitution is sustained through collusion between the state and capital, as well as through male-dominated sexual norms. From a human rights perspective, the paper frames sexual exploitation and violence as central to prostitution, and calls for policy reforms that protect and empower women in prostitution. Key strategies include structural change, gender-sensitive legal protection, and dismantling alliances that perpetuate exploitation. This work affirms women’s dignity and rights while advocating for systemic transformation.
