Gender in the secondary curriculum: balancing the books
This book examines how gender is represented and addressed within the secondary school curriculum. It critiques the ways in which educational materials, teaching practices, and subject choices often reproduce gender stereotypes and inequalities. By proposing strategies to “balance the books,” the book calls for curriculum reform that promotes gender equity, challenges bias, and creates more inclusive learning environments for all students.
