Convention On The Elimination Of All Forms Of Discrimination Againts Women
The convention on the elimination fo all forms of discrimination against women, has the status of an international treaty which members of the united nations are encouraged to ratify. CEDAW was adopted as a UN convention because if offerred a comprehensive framework for the implementation of rights of women. it has been in force since 1981 and so far more than 140 states have ratified it. only 10 muslim countries have ratified the convention and 2 have signed it.
