Cultural-Based Violence Against Women : Forced Marriage
In this study, the deinition of forced marriages is the practice of marriages when one party is coerced, usually to women, as the party considered to violate tradition or other reasons related to the relevant traditional law in the place they live. Similar with traditional marriage violation discussed before, women in forced marriages are groups vulnerable to violence. Apart from receiving physical, psychological, sexual, and economic violence, women also receive twice the sanction than men, including the sanction to force married. Types of marriages discussed in this study are (1) Kawin Sambung (2) Elopement (3) Kawin Cina Buta (4) Kawin Grebeg/Kawin Tangkap/Mudemu (5) Forced Marriage due to Adultery, and (6) Early Marriage.
