National Human Rights Institution Independent Report 25 Years of implementing the Beijing Platform for Action (BPFA+25) in Indonesia
Komnas Perempuan as a national human rights institution whose scope of work is to increase public awareness, has the interest in developing a review report on the implementation of BPFA+25 and to be present at regional meetings to discuss the implementation of BPFA + 25. Komnas Perempuan is expected to be able to monitor Preface v vi National Human Rights Institution Independent Report the role and responsibility of the state in carrying out the mandate of the Beijing platform in the regional context, monitoring the dynamics of the Asia Pacifi c regional forum for BPFA + 25, identifying issues that are developing at a regional scale, compiling and transferring the knowledge that is widely obtained from these strategic forums, and also strengthen its strategic network. UN Special rapporteur on Violence Against Women (VAW): Dubravka Simonovic emphasized that the review on the 25 years of the implementation of BPFA is very important, especially when violence against women around the world is increasing, including gender related killings carried out by intimate partner and their family members. Therefore, violence against women should be a priority. Anita Bhatia, Director of UN Women also explained that of the collected 41 national reviews from the Asia Pacifi c region, some of the highlights were about increasing discriminatory policies.
