The Implict Relation of Psychology and Law: Women and Syndrome Evidence
This book explore the role of psychological syndromes (o.e. Battered Woman's Syndrome, Rape Trauma Syndrome, Premenstrual Syndrome and False Memory Syndrome) within the courtrooms of the UK and the US. This book brings a feminist analysis to the fields of psychology and law. The authors explore the role of psychological syndromes (i.e., Battered Women's Syndrome, Rape Trauma Syndrome, Premenstrual Syndrome and False Memory Syndrome) within the courtrooms of the UK and the US. In addition to the explicit relationship between the two fields, the authors argue that there is an unrecognized implicit relation existing within the intersection of psychology and law, which they find works to the disadvantage of women. The book engages readers from a wide range of disciplines including: psychology, law, critical theory, criminology and women's studies. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
