Human rights in the UK : a resource guide
On 2 October 2000, the Human Rights Act 1998 came fully into force, incorporating into United Kingdom (UK) law most of the rights contained in the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). Although an Act of Parliamnet just like any other, the Human Rights Act in in effect a Bill of Rights for the UK, and should be perceived as such.
