Five sets of regional consultations were conducted in North Sumatra, South Sulawesi, west Kalimantan, Papua, and Yogyakarta. These provinces were selected to reflect a balance across the east and west of Indonesia, and across Java and the islands, as well as different experiences across the key issues identified. This report in eight chapters, examines the situation of women in Indonesia. It identifies major gender gaps and issues in the context of socioeconomic and human development.
