East & Southeast Asia Regional Workshop On Domestic Violence Legislation: Moving Towards Regional Networking And Strategies
This book is a report of the East and Southeast Asia regional workshop on domestic violence (DV) legislation, organized with support from Forum-Asia, UNIFEM, The Asia Foundation, and USAID. The workshop brought together governments, civil society organizations, and academics from various countries to map developments in anti-DV laws, identify implementation gaps, and formulate joint strategies for strengthening legislation and services for victims. Discussions focused on harmonizing legal definitions, protection mechanisms, access to justice, the role of law enforcement, and building regional networks for advocacy. The report underscores the importance of cross-border cooperation to promote victim-centered, accountable, and gender-responsive protection standards across East and Southeast Asia.
