Changing the Landscape: Ending Violence ~ Achieving Equality: Final Report of the Canadian Panel on Violence Against Women
This report discusses comprehensive efforts to end violence against women as part of achieving gender equality in Canada. Through in-depth analysis, this report identifies the root causes of problems such as structural inequality, discrimination and social norms that perpetuate violence. In addition, various strategic recommendations were presented which included public policy reform, improving a gender-responsive legal system, public education, and strengthening support services for victims. This report emphasizes that eliminating violence against women is an important prerequisite for realizing a just, equal and inclusive society.
