Towards the Partnership between the Government and NGO in Preventing and Overcoming Violence Against Women
This book emphasizes the importance of partnerships between the government and non-government organizations (NGOs) in efforts to prevent and handle violence against women. Violence against women is seen as a complex problem that cannot be handled effectively by one party alone, so cross-sector collaboration is needed.
The government has a major role in formulating policies, regulations, as well as providing public services and legal protection systems. Meanwhile, NGOs play a role in providing direct services to victims, such as assistance, counseling, advocacy, and community strengthening. NGOs also often act as a liaison between victims and the state, especially for vulnerable groups who have difficulty accessing formal services.
