2004 World Survey On The Role Of Women In Development: Women And International Migration
This publication examines the growing role of women in international migration and its implications for development, gender equality, and human rights. The report analyzes global migration trends, highlighting how increasing numbers of women migrate independently for work and contribute significantly to both sending and receiving economies through their labor and remittances. It also explores the challenges faced by women migrants, including discrimination, exploitation, limited legal protection, and barriers to accessing social services. By combining statistical analysis and policy review, the survey emphasizes the need for gender-sensitive migration policies and stronger international cooperation to protect the rights and well-being of women migrants worldwide.
