Dignity Denied
This publication examines the denial of dignity and fundamental rights experienced by women workers in Asia, particularly in the context of labor migration and globalization. Produced by the Asian Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD), the book highlights how economic policies, weak labor protections, and gender discrimination contribute to the exploitation and marginalization of women workers. Through case studies and policy analysis, it explores issues such as poor working conditions, limited legal protection, and barriers to justice faced by women in various sectors. The report also calls for stronger legal frameworks, gender-sensitive policies, and greater accountability from governments and employers to ensure the protection of women workers’ rights and dignity.
