Seeking Better Pastures: The Impact Of Out-Migration On Agriculture And Farming Households In Two Villages In Indramayu, West Java, Indonesia
This book examines the effects of out-migration on agricultural activities and farming households in two villages in Indramayu, West Java, Indonesia. It explores how the migration of family members—often in search of better economic opportunities—affects local agricultural production, household labor distribution, and rural livelihoods. The study analyzes both the positive and negative impacts of migration, including remittances that may improve household income and welfare, as well as challenges such as labor shortages in farming and shifts in traditional agricultural practices. Through field-based research and community-level analysis, the book provides insight into the relationship between migration, rural development, and the socio-economic dynamics of farming households.
