Migrant Worker's Rights in ASEAN Region: A Baseline Study
This book presents a baseline study on the condition of migrant workers’ rights across countries in the ASEAN region. It examines the legal frameworks, policies, and institutional mechanisms that govern labor migration, as well as the extent to which these systems protect migrant workers from exploitation, discrimination, and labor rights violations. The study highlights key challenges faced by migrant workers, including limited legal protection, inadequate enforcement of labor standards, and restricted access to justice and social protection. By providing comparative analysis and regional perspectives, the publication aims to establish an initial understanding of migrant workers’ rights in ASEAN and to support the development of stronger policies, regional cooperation, and advocacy efforts to improve protection for migrant workers.
