Overcoming Violent Conflict: Peace and development analysis in Central Sulawesi
This book analyzes the roots and dynamics of violent conflict in Central Sulawesi, particularly in the Poso area, highlighting how religious identity tensions, economic disparities, weak governance, and competition among local elites contributed to cycles of violence. It explains how social segregation, post-conflict trauma, and the presence of armed groups complicated peacebuilding efforts, while also examining the roles of state intervention, security forces, and civil society initiatives in reducing violence. The study emphasizes that sustainable peace depends on inclusive development, community-based reconciliation, and the strengthening of local institutions to prevent the recurrence of conflict.
