Overcoming Violent Conflict: Peace and Development Analysis in Nusa Tenggara Timur
This book examines patterns of social tension and violent conflict in Nusa Tenggara Timur, focusing on how poverty, limited access to natural resources, weak public services, identity politics, and local power struggles create conditions that can trigger violence. It highlights the interaction between environmental stress, economic marginalization, and governance challenges, as well as the vulnerability of rural communities to disputes over land, water, and political representation. The analysis also explores local wisdom, community dialogue, and development-oriented peacebuilding efforts as key pathways for preventing escalation and strengthening social cohesion, arguing that long-term stability depends on equitable development, responsive institutions, and inclusive participation of local actors.
