Overcoming Violent and Conflict: Peace and development analysis in Central Kalimantan, West Kalimantan and Madura,
This book analyzes the roots, dynamics, and impacts of communal violence in Central Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, and Madura, emphasizing how ethnic tensions, migration, economic disparities, weak governance, and competition over resources contributed to outbreaks of conflict. It examines the humanitarian consequences, displacement, and long-term trauma experienced by affected communities, while also highlighting local peace initiatives, traditional mechanisms, and development strategies that helped rebuild trust and stability. The study argues that sustainable peace requires inclusive development, fair resource distribution, strengthened institutions, and culturally sensitive reconciliation processes to address both immediate violence and its structural causes.
