Moving Forward Post-Tsunami: Voices Of The Vulnerable
This book presents a collection of testimonies and experiences from vulnerable survivors in the aftermath of the tsunami disaster, highlighting their struggles, resilience, and efforts to rebuild their lives. It foregrounds the perspectives of groups often marginalized in recovery processes—such as women, children, the elderly, and the poor—examining the social, economic, and psychological challenges they faced during rehabilitation and reconstruction. Through qualitative narratives and community-based accounts, the book also evaluates the effectiveness of humanitarian assistance, government policies, and development programs in addressing the needs of those most at risk. Ultimately, it emphasizes the importance of inclusive, participatory recovery approaches that center the voices of vulnerable populations to achieve equitable and sustainable post-disaster rebuilding.
