Making the New Indonesia Work for the Poor
This report analyzes the strategic pathways and policy reforms required to ensure that economic growth in post-reform Indonesia directly benefits the impoverished and vulnerable segments of society. It examines the critical intersections of macroeconomic stability, job creation, and equitable access to essential public services such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure. By evaluating existing social safety nets and poverty reduction programs, the study identifies structural bottlenecks—including regional disparities and implementation gaps—that hinder inclusive development. The findings offer concrete, evidence-based recommendations for policymakers to design more targeted, accountable, and pro-poor initiatives, ultimately aiming to transform Indonesia's economic progress into sustainable welfare and social justice for all citizens.
